This lecture is an introduction to the eight (8) parts of speech that constitute the foundation of English grammar: nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Students will explore the function of each part of speech, how words change their category depending on usage, and how they work together to form meaningful sentences. through examples and short interactive tasks, the student will develop the ability to identify and correctly use parts of speech in both spoken and written communication. The lecture also emphasizes common mistakes and offers strategies to improve grammar accuracy. By the end of this session, students will gain stronger linguistic awareness and be able to construct clearer, more precise sentences.
By the end of this lecture, students will be able to:
-
Define the eight main parts of speech and explain their functions in a sentence.
-
Identify and classify words into their correct part of speech
- Differentiate between the different parts of speech.
- Apply knowledge of parts of speech in order to clear common confusions
